Impound Insurance Requirements

Please review all requirements carefully before submitting your quote request.

Valid Vehicle TAX

The vehicle must have current, valid road tax. Expired tax will prevent us from arranging cover.

Valid MOT Certificate

A valid, unexpired MOT is required. The vehicle must have passed its most recent test.

V5C Logbook in Your Name

The vehicle's logbook (V5C document) must be registered in your name as the policyholder.

Which Police Force Seized the Vehicle

e.g. Metropolitan Police, Greater Manchester Police

Where the Vehicle Is Currently Held

The full name and address of the Impound impound

Reason the Vehicle Was Seized

The exact reason provided by the police for the seizure

If your licence has been revoked or you are currently banned:

You must inform the police and confirm whether you are allowed to nominate another driver to collect the vehicle.
You may either:

Option 1 Transfer ownership to the nominated driver

Option 2 Keep the policy in your name and add the nominated driver as an additional driver

Police approval is required in these cases.
